What are Channel Letters?

Front-Lit
Front-lit signs are the most standard channel letter signage. The face is created with translucent acrylic to allow the light to shine through the front, providing excellent visibility at any time of the day.
Back-Lit
Back-lit signs create a halo effect around the letter’s edges as the light source is behind the lettering. The lighting is projected from the back, often built with translucent or black metal.
Reverse-Lit
Also known as halo-lit, this lighting makes it appear as if the words are floating off the wall. The aluminum faces and returns are covered in translucent or clear acrylic, allowing the light to come out under the backside of the sign.
Combination-Lit
Combination channel letter signage shines light through the front and back of the sign, allowing the option for multiple colors on either side of the lettering. This is a great form to make your sign more legible at night with colors that may not work well during the day or night.

Both are made to present a 3-dimensional appearance. Channel letters and box signs present a bold statement to show off your business. The main difference between the two is that channel letter signage provides individual lettering while box signs remain enclosed in a custom-shaped box, circle, or rectangle.
